Fans and AC were working fine. The car was parked for two days during which there was a heavy rain storm. When I started up after two days there was no air coming from any of the internal vents in the car. I could hear the compressor operating when pressing the AC controls but no cold or hot air from the vents. Checked fuses under bonnet/hood (I am English) and all well. Also looked in the computer compartment but decided not to mess in there! Are there any other fuses anywhere please. All ideas welcome.

Many thanks for your interest. I am having trouble locating the intake box but will keep looking. Also have you any idea where the fan motor is on this model.

VMT for your last. Have got to the polen filter but unable to remove the rest of the trim, to get at the motor, without removing the windscreen wiper. I will look at threads on here to see if there is any info on how to do it. Unless you have a majic bullet for doing so.

I have set about getting at the blower motor using the diagram kindly sent to me by Television. However I have the wiper and wiper motor unbolted but the plastic moulding which holds the pollen filter and the air driven vents remains solid and I can see no more screws or bolts holding it in place, any more advice out there please. I need to remove this plastic moulding to get at the fan motor and regulator. I can just wriggle my fingers into the fan housing and the fan turns with no resistance. It looks as if 12 Volts are leaving the fuse box to the regulator so my money is on the regulator being U/S

With the help of Televison I have got to the fan motor of my 1994 500sl 129 and solved the problem of the dead fan motor. The main problem was removing the plastic moulding containing the vacum operated vents under the Pollen filter. After removing the wiper motor assembly there were two more bolts underneath the wiper. Unless you actually lift the wiper assembly and motor clear of the car these bolts are invisible. After that the moulding was still firmly held in place. Evantually I discovered a further three bolts between the firewall and the pollen filter moulding (in a gap of about 1.5 cm). These were covered by the wiring loom. Removing these bolts allowed the moulding to be removed, exposing the fan motor.
The metal strap holding down the motor is normally held in place by clipping onto a plastic moulding. This moulding had broken and the motor was just floating free. Movement had caused spade connection to one of the brushes to snap off. A new spade connector was soldered on and all was well. It was a nightmare. It was unbelievable how much kit had to be removed just to sort out a simple broken contact. Without the help available on this site I would not have been brave enough to keep taking bits off. Many thanks
