Sorry for the lengthy delay I've been away for Xmas and the New Year. The car is a late model first reg in March 91. But I was wrong it's a 500SEC not a 560. It has 89,000 genuine miles and FMBSH the last service at Rycroft in Oxford at 88451 in June 2002. It is blue black with a pale leather interior (I think cream).
The snag is that it is currently garaged in the south of France. I drove it down there on behalf of the owner a couple of years ago where it has remained unused since his death last year. His widow now wishes to dispose of it. I may be able to bring it up in the nearish future or can arrange viewing in France. It is vice free and drove like a dream when I brought it down. Send me a private message if you want contact details or photos.

The car is totally rust and blemish free except mysteriously for a small patch on the upright portion of the boot lid. The marks on the photos are mud from the journey down from the UK two years ago.

I'm always terrified by how little these wonderful cars are worth. But in this condition it's gotta be near £6k (subject to the owner's agreement).

Was that before Mercs or during? I always think they have some similarities. Alvises are beautifully engineered, pull up straight and do exactly what they promise without fuss and are sporty without being dangerous. But although I now have one of the last of the line it wasn't really viable in 1967 as it cost twice the price of a Jag.
The real contenders were the Speed 25 and 4.3s of before the war. All syncro boxes, power brakes that really worked, independent front suspension, held the road like glue and the unmodified 4.3 saloon did an virtually unheard of 100mph in 1937.
