560SEL ASR Light

The ASR light on my 560SEL came on this morning closely followed the the ABS light. The handbook says that the ASR light may come on if the voltage drops below 10v, and then will go out once the voltage rises. Does anyone else have this problem and does this mean that the battery or alternator is on the way out? I turned the engine off and restarted, the lights then went out!!
