Hi all,
My vehicle only has 6 digits for the VIN, so all of the 17 digit information isn't relevant to me. Is there a way of searching for that short VIN, which seems to be just the serial number by the look of it. Thanks.

Searching for the first 6 digits of your Vin# will only reveal the model designation (eg WDD212 is a 2010-2016 E class)
To find out anything more about your vehicle you need to input the full 17 digits into a good data card decoder like the two below.
Look at the tag in the lower passenger side windscreen or your V5 for the full 17 Vin#

Found the VIN in a secret compartment between the rear seats on ours.

Well here we are 8 days later and the new member who asked the question has not been back on the forum since making his first and only post.
Why do people do this? And why does it bother me that they do?

Stick around and you'll see a lot more!
I also particularly like the ones who only join up to try to sell something, then bugger off...."Thanks for popping in"

You can see such posters a mile off. I think there has been a-lot recently.

First post is a plea for help without any intro. But we as good upstanding merc citizens do our part to help....right?

I guess I was the same to be honest.

But when you are passionate about the brand you tend to stick around.

a bit like going into a local for a beer and you all know its a one off.
