My SLK230 is due for a B (I think) service in a few thousand miles so I am looking for advice as to where to get it done. Do I pay the extra and keep the service history up or (preferably) find a decent local garage to do the job for half the price? I am based in wilmslow in Cheshire.

Difficult - get quotes from the dealer and specialist and then decide what the fMBsf is actually worth. When I was getting 1 service every 18 months I used the dealer, now its every 6 months I probably wont. Plus it doesn't really affect the trade in value.
