Air suspension would be enough to put me off from the start im afraid, especially in a car of that age. I have a book indoors (sad i know) which gives details of car sales etc etc through various years. It was common in the states in the 50's and 60's when petrol was 10 cents a gallon to have these huge 5, 6 and 7 litre cars. Most of them came with optional air suspension. Only about 2% of the models sold had this option fitted because the systems used were an expensive nightmare from the word go. Im not sure if this would apply to MB, as they are of much higher quality, but i thought i would add my tuppence worth.
