I am at a loss here and appreciate any insight. I have spent over $2000 replacing gaskets, seals, etc., and still I get about a half thimble full of oil on my garage floor overnight after driving. The valve cover gaskets and front main seal were the last replacement. Now my mechanic is telling me he thinks it is seeping oil from the head gasket(s). Another $2400 to replace! I did not think that it was possible for oil to leak from the head gaskets, but I'm not that mechanically knowledgeable. It is definitely fresh oil and I cannot see for sure where it is coming from. Other than the leak, the car runs superbly well, no misses, no smoke, and full power. Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

On the 117 there are only the oil return channels in rear of the head.

Is it not possible to really wash it down till very clean and then use a swab on a stick behind the engine to check for leaks

If you look properly after cleaning, you will find the leak source.
