I have to make a new thread since the last one had false information due to my lack of knowledge at the time.
My W124 Coupe starts on the second gear like it’s supposed to, but then quickly shifts up to third and fourth instantly after that at under 20km/h. Doesn’t downshift no matter how hard I kick down. Fluids and the filter are okay. I adjusted the bowden cable multiple times to both directions, even as far as I could but with zero outcome. Any ideas from the more experienced? A picture of the cable provided in case I missed something.

Cable needs to *just* have the slack removed at idle. Have you looked at the vacuum capsule? Vacuum should exist at idle with the throttle closed and bleed away as the throttle is opened. Problems with the vacuum control valve often lead to vacuum being present at the gearbox end all the time, which the gearbox sees as closed or trailing throttle, so it’ll not kick down.
