there's hardly anything left in there when I get going. I can't wait for the weather to get better, I'm suffering withdrawal symptoms.
Tesco's Mimellium 99 Octane is just the job for your motor. I use it wherever I can get it.

Vacuum advance & retard

Hi all - well she's in having her engine fiddled with and already there is a tranformation due to a number of items needing attention. There was an intermittent injector, throttle linkage missing various bushes and needing adjustment, valve clearances all out (despite me trying to adjust them!). Anyway, another issue is that the vacuum unit on the side of the distributer is not working correctly. It is the two pipe version where (correct me if I'm wrong please) I think one pipe advances the timing as the revs increase and the other retards the timing for tickover. It's not holding vacuum for retard. Has anyone repaired one of these please, or are they available at a reasonable cost anywhere please? I have a spare but it is also knackered. Are they specific to the engine type (8 or 6 cylinder)?
Thanks, Dylan
