A lad a work used to have one, bought it new. Its alarm went off one evening, he & his son ran outside to look, couldn't see anything to start with then realised that some one had nicked his bonnet! Apparently the later bonnets with the 'power bulge' are highly desirable and easily removed as they don't actually bolt on.

Everything on a Land Rover is desirable and easily removed...

It's why mine is in a locked compound, disabled and secured with a very decent chain. It's all about "time" - it could still be taken or stripped but the time to do it would be significant and the low life don't want to spend time getting to it.
