I have a 92 SL500 that was made on 10/91 and it does not the LH ECU so I cannot put in a performance chip. The car is really quick when cold, but sluggish when up to temp. I have read that this may be the design of the transmission; it shifts later when cold and too early when hot.
Any ideas how to have it work all the time like the way it does when it is cold?
Also, there is a switch under the throttle footplate. I presume this sends a signal to the transmission to tell it when to step down. This does not seem to make a difference in mine. Is there a way to check / test it?
