I'm new to both MB's and this forum. Can anybody help with a wiring diagram for the electric radiator fans on an E280? A long story but the air con has never worked properly since I bought the car 18 months ago. The problem came to a head recently during an outback trip when outside temperatures reached 40 plus and we were left without the air. An auto elec in Mt Isa (and you can't get much more outback that the Isa) identified the problem and rigged a get you home fix. A previous owner tried to second guess the MB design engineers and fitted a temperature sensing switch to operate the fans but when activated at a bit over 80, the air con shut down. The temporary fix works fairly well but the fans run much more than they should. So I want to return the set up to standard or as near as practically possible. Trying to get any electrical information from MB Australia is like pulling teeth as they state bluntly you should use a their dealers and not independants. Any help would be appreciated.

I have the Diavia a/c on a 93 W124. This seems to have what looks like a bodge up temp sensor thing behind the radio.

According to the manual the fans shouldn't kick in until meltdown is iminent (120C)

I think it's the white wire that triggers the relay for the fans.
