94, 300ce vacuum problems, seat lock ?

Hi does anyone know of problems with the front seats on a 300 c or ce . Mine do not lock so they can be tilted at any time . My Mechanic said the seats are locked by Vacuum which you release by pushing the black buttons on the side of the seats, but we can not cure the problem . My lights do not adjust up and down which I believe is also connected to the vacuum . Any Idears anyony ?

Hello and welcome. the weak points are the pipes on the rear of the headlamps, do check those, this is often accompanied by hissing under the dash on the headlamp adjuster.

Its a matter of going around and checking all of the pipes in the system.

Have you tried the seats with the engine running and the doors closed? Thats the only way that they will lock.

Yes I have tried with the doors shut . There is hissing from the headlight height adjuster, so I am going to look at the pipes to the headlights on saturday .
The bulbs have blown in the heater temp wheels/controls . Do you know how to get to the back of these, I can not see any screws or bolts ?
