94 E420 Dim dash lighting

The dash lighting on my cluster is dim. The vehicle does not have a dimmer control that I know of. Do I have to pull the whole cluster to see if a bulb is out?

There are 2 knobs below the speedo. Have you tried turning the left hand knob? This is the instrument dimmer control.

He says his car has not got a dimmer but he will have to take the instrument cluster out to check the bulbs

My manual only indicates that the knob resets the trip odometer. It must have gotten bumped once when the trip odometer was being reset and we looked in the owners manual and it doesn't even mention the dimmer. I do feel like the loose nut behind the wheel about now for not finding it myself thanks again. :wink:
