I have been posting to other threads recently relating to low performance with my '95 E280 estate, 145k miles, M104 engine. Has new loom, all pukka, no misfiring, nice 80mph cruise, but seems to be short of a lot of horses on hills. Dealer had advised there was an unclearable error code, not unusual after loom problems, and that the ECU could fail at any time, or never. They made me sit down before advising the new ECU cost.
MB dealer has now helpfully advised MB code reader ECU error code as - 107 Dwell angle control at stop of ignition output stage. Seems this may well fit the symptom, being related to ignition timing - eg., not advancing when booted up a hill.
My aim is to increase my confidence that the ECU is damaged, and its not another problem, before proceeding with getting it repaired. Any comments by the knowledgable forum members, who may have come across error 107 before, welcome.
