I have a 1995 s 420 w140, and just recently things have started acting quite odd. It started with my drivers side door lock, it is sticky like it is partially jammed or maybe bent inside. It always moves up and down when I use the key, but it doesn't always move up enough for the door to open, remains locked from the outside even though the key was turned as fas as it would go. The fob does not unlock it either, and it no longer unlocks the rest of the car. When I press the button on the dash it unlocks all the doors but the drivers side, and starts to unlock it, but I have to press it 2 to 4 times to get it to pop-up enought for the door to open. In addition my alarm went off irradically 5 times in one night right after the door problem started. Also my boot handle no longer pops out, all at the same time. Pumps are working, lines look new. Any one have any ideas???

When something goes wrong with the lock on drivers door it can upset the pneumatic and electronic systems. You will have to take off the door panel to see what has gone wrong,if you do look in the bottom of the door for any pieces that may have broken off, but it is not for the light heated. there are many parts that have to be actuated. The re- set is easy once the door closes as it should.

Thankyou very much Malcom, I was planning on opening the door pannel and taking a look. I have never worked on a MB before and am rather intimidated by the whole incident. I've been hoping as everyone does that it is a fuse or just something needing to be lubed. Also I read some other forums and have found that where I am may be important, and I am in Washingtonm US. I appreciate the help I've gotten and hope for more.

95 s420 doors, boot electrics?

A silly tip really - before you touch anything take a picture or two with a digital camera, and if you start to strip down the lock again take pictures.

These work wonders 2 weeks later when the replacement part arrives and you have forgotten what goes where!
