Thanks Malcomb I tried the local dealer but Mercedes want an eye watering £360 per belt for belts that are 300mm longer. Barry

That is crazy prices,,,how about looking at another model for some belts that are longer, but with the same fittings from a breaker

Hi Barry,
I have just bought a seat belt extender so that i can fit a baby seat to the car, if you go to ebay or google seat belt extension there are loads of seperate extensions available.

about £15-£20

Hi Raj The only way seems to be to order a rear seat belt and get round itt like that. Mine should be in tuesday. When I get it I will see if it fits other mercedes with a rear middle seat belt buckle and then get someone to do the sewing. I will post an update when its done. Barry

Take the belt to a car upholsterer, they have industrial sewing machines

If a seat belt is fitted to a car, then that belt comes under the MOT to be checked, as long as it is sound and good ends then no problem

Hi Just picked up the Merc rear seat belt and it looks as though it can be bolted to the rear seat belt reciever to make a seat belt extender. Expensive way of doing it but at least it will work. Barry

Thanks Barry, fortunately i wont need to do anything as we have to buy a new car seat soon anyway, so just have to remove transponders from the old seat and then use with the new baby seat which will be forward facing.

Hi All Picked up the seat belt receiver and bolted it to the other end. Works a treat and a real bargain at £50 compared to changing both seat belts at a cost of £750. Barry
