Sorry Ricky,it looks like a new key, have you ever tried that key, I was just wondering if it ever was the correct key for the car.

I presume your key is the same as mine, single button to unlock/lock with key blade flicking out from the side.
Should have a small window in the fob does this light up red when you operate the button?
If not you could try retensioning the battery contacts.
But first you say you,ve never used it ever, which means it will have to be synched to your car/alarm.
To do this, aim the fob at the rear view mirror and press fob twice briefly. Turn the key to position 2 within 30 seconds, this should do it. It may take 2-3 times.
Hope this helps.
Let me know how you get on.

Thankks for that imformation, Malcom and Andy, will try vandys suggestions when I get the car back, (in paint shop for minor bumper repair), and to answer Malcoms question, the car was brought from new, and the key in question has sat in the safe since, Thanks Rick

I have one of these keys and it doesn't light up under normal conditions as it is infra red but you can see it if you look through the digital camera.

Hi,
Mine you can clearly see illuminated without the aid of a digital camera, in fact the handbook say this as well.
Is your car a 'pre-facelift'? with a Scorpion alarm fitted from new?
