No special tool required, when the damper has gone this normally makes a rattling noise

98 e240 belt tensioner
Thanks for that Malcolm. I am trying to buy the belt tensioner on line. As I am not at home I can not view the part. My question is - is there more than one type of tensioner ie for viscos or electric fan. Mine is the electric fan. I have located part number 326220290 and just want to confirm that this is what I need.
