Finally enjoying driving the car after a ropey start and long may it continue.

Occasionally, when driving I hear a sharp beep beep. I look at the dash and there's nothing in terms of illuminations or messages. I think it reminds of me of the Attention Assist noise I've had a few times after long spells driving (what can I say, I have ADHD) so I was wondering, could the warning noise just be something about my lane positioning or similar before we get into Attention Assist territory? Other than that I am stumped. Any ideas. Does it make noises when the engine throws a code? I don't have a reader to check.

My wife’s Audi does similar, it’s bl**dy annoying. Found out it is when her mobile receives a text message of all things!

Probably the "collisuion prevention assist" warning you that you are not braking as sharply as it thinks you should. Next time it happens look at the front "park assist" light bar, that will probably light up. Mine does it all the time - ****** annoying :)

Thank you. I'll see if there are patterns based on those suggestions!

ADAS things possibly - can't say its annoying mine does it all the time

had a speed camera thing in other cars, and others in the car would be screaming about it, asking what it was, I don't even notice it - maybe its being a biker - every few hunderd yards a car or lorry is trying to kill you - half because they can't drive, the other half are deliberately trying to do it - so 45 years of that and then being in warm car with a baby beep isn't really an issue

I remember a few years ago my mum in the W204 - she came home and said there is a fault in the car and a warning triangle flashes on screen with a beep.

It was collision detection.

Rather annoying and a bit over sensitive imho

my merc is the first car I drive with lots of the trim removed - never really bothered putting the trim back in the boot - it only has to come out again
never owned another brand of car where this was needed

Indeed it sounds like collision assist as per dry run. Mine does it from time to time, sometimes as you approach another car say on a bend. It thinks you may hit it. High pitched beep beep!

Though it is useful on occasion if I'm approaching something shall we say, a little eagerly!

Depending on the extras you may have, it could be when changing lanes without indicating.
