A/C spares a.k.a. chickens teeth

New to the forum - has anyone tried buying a/c parts from Merc ?
I have been waiting for 10 months for a new a/c compressor (yes - an arm and a leg!) and they can't even give me an e.t.a.
SO much for customer service.
Customer service seems to only apply to NEW customers.

If I didn't like the engineering so much I would go for another brand.

Am I alone on this ?

Don't know the exact model number of your car but there are plenty of parts suppliers that stock aftermarket AC compressors - get the part number and google it

Yes - I have done all that, many times.
I know the o.e.m. part number, it's made by Sanden
Have tried calling and e-mailing them too, but they seem to have attended the same customer service school as MB !

Curious thing, electric powered, no belt.
I think because the car is a hybrid.

Does it have a Sanden part number on the physical unit itself that you've been able to see?

if u have a hybrid and its playing up - its doing what it was designed to do - few own them for good reason

on a USA forum they were just discussing the $8k job to convert it back to being a real car
I expect the issue is, this is a unit to cool the battery not the passensgers - therefore extremely rare and purely designed to achieve what it has..

Hybrid/ev’s are not cheap to repair, look up the cost of the hybrid battery. The ac compressor is electrically driven whilst the engine is off.
