This is my first post and hopefully someone can help.

I have a 2003 A class Automatic Avant, for the past four months I have had problems with the alarm and internal lights.

It seems that when the temperature drops below 3 degrees the alarm automatically starts going off, and when you drive the car in cold temperatures the internal lights go on and off.

I have had to leave the car unlocked through the winter period however over the past week the car has been automatically locking itself at night and the alarm goes off. Last night the alarm went off 4 times between 0100 - 0435

Has anyone come across this before and is it something that would be quite expensive to fix.

All of the other electrics are fine.

Had a similar problem, it was the siren causing the problem, its a common fault, so your local merc should have one in stock

Hi Chh,

I have exactly the same problem. Have you been able to solve the problem yet?

Thanks,

Lord have mercy, just bought a 2001 A160 AG, and am sure my neighbours knows its mine right now, the alarm has been keeping them up every again for no reason. I basically just left it disable all night which is not safe, but atleast i get a good night rest. Please if you find the solution let me know.

I took the car into our local dealership and they found a fault with the alarm siren unit which they have now replaced.
