Hi everyone,

Just bought a 2004 A 160 Avantguard.......

My supplying dealer reccons that you can't retro fit an arm rest (like the one fitted to the elegance).

Anyone know of an aftermarket company who supplies something suitable ???

Thanks.

There is a German Car Access company displayed on the Baby-Benz.com site that does hold spares etc. However, i asked them if they have headlamp covers which they did not, nor did they stok a number of thing I was looking for. Maybe a wrecker might serve the purpose.

If armrests are available as an option on your car (same trim and seats) then they are available after market. If your dealer is unhelpful, find another. Assuming the seats have the fittings (which they will as MB won't make 2 virtually identical different seats when they don't need to), you will be able to buy the armrest and other kit needed to attach it.
If you think about it, it could have been installed at the factory, broken and need replacing, so if the dealer says he cant get the parts, he means he can't be bothered trawling through the parts list for all the odds and ends you would need.

If I could put standard factory headrests into a ford escort in 1986 that weren't fitted at the factory (and there were no blanks- I had to cut the seat back slightly to install the runners) you should be able to get the bits for your armrest.

arm rest

Sorry, i didn't make myself clear......

my A Class is a "face lift" medel (2004)....

Apparently the "old" ones centre console was the same on the avantguarde as the Elegence and the elegence arm rest would fit on the Avantguarde.

The Face Lift models have diferent centre consoles.

So i wanted to know if an after market company made one that would fit mine...

Rather than starting a new thread....

...same situation, I have an A-Class and I want an Arm Rest!!!

Ive bought all the original MB components as per:
http://www.detali.ru/cat/oem_mb2.as...506716.507&CT=F&cat=66A&SID=68&SGR=260&SGN=04

when I eventually got to the car and tried fitting them, there appears to be a missing bracket at the rear of the cast iron arm shank ie. the shank has 3 bolts, the front bolt goes into a pre-drilled and tapered hole, but the rear two holes + bolts do not match up with any bracket on the A-Class.

Ive searched the detali diagrams and cannot find a bracket mentioned! All the other parts fit a treat.... so before I go off and manufacturer a bracket, does anyone know if Mercedes make it as a part, or if the sub-frame already has a bracket pre-welded? NB. The heating ducting is in the way, so any bracket will have to be oddly shaped!
