Hi guys,

Thinking of buying the misses an A-Class, if I come across the right one at the right money.
Looking at a Petrol engine, maybe a 1.6 so it will be the A160/A180, is that right? Probably somewhere in between 2017-2019 reg.

Questions I have:
- Are these belt or chain driven?
- What is the fuel consumption like? She is currently in a 1.0T Astra-K.
- She prefers the manual, is this a decent option or should we stick to the Auto?
- Any common problems I should be aware of and look out for?
- What maintenance should have already be done, and what should I avoid if it hasn't been done?
- Do these come with DAB and USB? My dad has a 2017 B Class and it has no DAB, was shocked!!

I'm sure I will have more questions once I see answers, but that's it for now.

Thanks.

2018 is when the facelift came in, better car so go for a later one

Don't think I can afford it, hence got to look probably at pre-facelift.

Check for water ingress in the rear footwells - comes through the rear vents behind the bumper on the pre-facelift ones

As for manual or auto I would stick to Manual we had a A class and day after I drove it the 110 mile home it started with Gearbox faults then the B class we have started 2 month after purchase with only 38000 mile on clock did the same lookly it was an approved used from MB sheffield so was repaired under warranty,

On the engine, the 1.6 are actually marked as 180/200 now, so if your looking at a 160, that’ll be the 1.3, both are turbo units and the 1.6 is actually quite spritely, we have that in our B class and I must admit that when pushed it really does pick up and go but also return a respectable mpg too (we had 44 at the weekend pootling about at the weekend going over to whitepost farm for a day out)

Thank you, yes it will be a manual we're looking at.

That's interesting, thank you. Yes, won't be looking at anything more than a 1.6. Are all the 1.6's Turbo'd?

Maybe someone can indicate otherwise.
AFAIK they are Renault engines - no for me.
