I have an A Class 160 which i thought had an immobiliser fault, now i've been told it may be the ECU. I have fault codes 100 & 170, i've been told the ECU can be repaired. Can anyone point me in the right direction.

The full codes were P0100 i beleive this is an air mass fault and P0170 which is fuel system (bank 2) if i've rememdered right.

P0100 sounds more like it!

Thats not a cheap fix if its a airmass sensor!

It's looking that way, the original symtons i had were the alarm coming on while driving and loss of power both faults intermittant, now its a non starter thats how i thought immobiliser. Then after having a code reader plugged in was told it could be the ECU ???

S class
I have heard rumours of A class mercs closing down the injectors when they detect lack of fuel or wrong fuel. Some of the tech lads will know if this is fact or fiction...

Sounds like the alarms up the shoot, is it an early A class ? If so I think the alarms the problem.
