Hello chaps, not my 190E (for a change). My colleague's wife has a '99 A160 which has decided to start playing up.

The fault is in the ECU- the air mass sensor- according to the stealership- £800 for the part!

The problem was that the engine would cut out when going round corners, this is a problem as they do not live in Milton Keanes!

Any thoughts?

Surely the Air mass sensor is a seperate unit?

2002 SL500, 216 CL500, all fully loaded
Some people clean them with good results, they will soon be on air

Given the reliability of these things it damn well should be! It is on the C, E etc but it isn't on the A class. It isn't on a Micra either but that's another story. Anyway, I'd do as Bundy says. A lot more sensible than the dealer option.

Cheers chaps,

My colleague is giving them a bell, I am guessing that this part is easy to get to/ remove?
The labour that MB quoted was £100, so presumably that is one circlip, a screw and then a tea break?
