I'm close to buying a A170 CDI. I already have a C250D, which I do all my own DIY and servicing on with no problem. Will the A class be any different for the competent DIYer, or are there features on the A class that are difficult to do at home?

Also, does this engine have a timing belt or a timing chain. If it's a timing belt, what's the interval and how easy is it to do?

I've heard there are suspension issues wiht the A class. Does anyone know the detail of this?

Thanks,

dude the plugs are very awkward to get to, oil filter you need a 27mm nut with long extension its situated towards the rear of the engine,

and you have a timing chain engine, not that straigh forward to work on, if you in the london area can pm you details of a very good merc indy.
