My wife has a 2002 W168 A160. It starts fine from cold or after a short run. But if you go far enough to get up to full operating temperature, then turn it off and then try to start it while it’s still hot, it just won’t start. It doesn’t elven turn over, just nothing happens. If you wait twenty minutes to half an hour it will start again, I assume because it has cooled down enough.

Has anyone else come across a similar problem or have any suggestions?

Thanks

Thanks for the response, but sorry, I have no idea what that means. What vac do you mean?

OK, ignore the last post. I just googled to find out what a vac leak means, so now I know. But what I don't understand is, why would that prevent the starter motor from turning over?
Thanks

2 suggestions. These cars have a starter relay.
Other thing it can be, is the solenoid that sits on top of the starter motor.
