Bought this car for my wife a year ago, she used to have one from new and loved it - so it was an easy sell to get her another one. Been a great little car, and done exactly what we wanted - an inexpensive run around returning 50MPG !
All was great until last week it suddenly started to get a most annoying rattle when hitting small bumps (I live in the fens so a common occurance). I definitely sounded like behind the dash area, and slightly to the right. I removed the side trim on the dash, and the larger bottom dash cover that houses the OBD and bonnet pul - confident that with my trusty torch I would fine the pesky rattle. I searched for over an hour gently tugging harness's and tapping all I could see but nothing. I did find that the dash fising by the A pillar was broken in half, so I mended this with the aid of a new fixing. Confident this was it, I built it back up and road tested it. Ughhh it wasn't that. I am now convinced the instrument cluster needs to come out, as that is the only space I could not access. I have searched on line for videos on removal, but nothing for an A class 2008, it is all newer stuff.
Can anyone help me here? A Video or some instructions? I reckon I need the dash pull tool which I made a while back but want to be sure.
Thanks for reading my autobiography:)

Most times you're better off pushing the clocks out from behind so you don't crack the screen...

The above is a great source of info for the rather underrated W168.

If you are anywhere near Hammersmith on your travels then Forerra is a gem - chap called Des is an A class expert, carries quite a bit of s/h spares, (rebuilt our autobox)

Bothplaces named are great sources of w168 info. Mine is 20 Yr old and cost me 3k to buy and pre dtf. Motoring does not get more economic during that time no one but me has maintained it. Bet mb didn't plan on that.
