Hi

I am looking for a ground point for my dash cam, and having a hard time to find a way to unscrew this nut.
At first, I thought this is a 6 pt. nuts, but it turns out to be a 8 point nuts located in a tricky position.
Any idea of what tools I should look for to unscrew this and slip my ground pt. to the car body.

Thanks in advance!

That’s not a nut, it’s the part of the stud welded to the metal plate. Use it as an earth point, just put a new nut on it along with your ring tag
Thanks.. In that case, I presume I have to grind off the paint first, then put a new nut on it? what size should I go for?

From here it looks like m6
Hi it's me again.

I finally able to find some nut to lock the ring tag on it. I also connected the ACC+ to fuse 313 (socket 12v, front) with a Fuse tap.

After turning on the ignition, my dash cam just won't turn on. I wonder what could be the problem or if I have done something wrong here?

I didn't connect the yellow wire (BATT+) terminal because I just don't need dash cam to work during parking, not sure if this is related.

I have installed the same dashcam in another BMW and that works okay.

You’ll need permanent supply on the batt+ and ignition supply on acc+ too or it won’t work

Thx!!! you are so fast. Oh! Then if I don't want the dashcam to record when engine is off, I will need to add something like a power magic pro?

Usually it won’t unless you connect the acc+ to batt+ instead

I see. Which one you think I should use for permanent supply?

These are fuses I can select to use..

320 Radio/Navigation System
321 Ignition Lock
318 Anti-theft alarm
319 Keyless-go
311 Engine electronics
312 Airbags system
313 Socket 12V front (current use this as switched fuse, ACC+)
316 Overhead instruments

305 Light/rain sensor
307 Emergency call system
308 Diagnostic Socket

Big cable coming in vertically at the bottom, secured with a nut. Check with a meter, but likely to be a permanent live
