A Question of Lubrication.....

I have experienced 2 minor (although one is driving me mad) problems and want a little advice.

1. The passnagers door handle is not going all the way back in when I let go of it, it needs to be pushed back into place. If I do it several times it's fine. This is just because it doesn't get used all that much. Is it safe to give it a good old dose of WD40 or do you have any other recommendations?

2. Over the last couple of weeks I have been using the wipers a lot because of the severe drought conditions (!). Over the last week or so the wipers have started squeaking. I don't think it's the blades, I think its a little more mechanical than that. It only squeaks at the begining of the up-stroke. Is there anything there that could do with a good oiling or should I leave it to the garage when it goes in to get the cruise control sorted out?

Any suggestions would be appreciated?

Neil, do not use WD40, halfords and the like sell PTFE and Silicon sprays, they are transparent and do not stain anything, the other good thing is that it last well,unlike WD40.

SL boots can be hard to close ,I did mine several months ago, and I bet that I have the easiest closing boot in the UK.

The wiper just need lubricating.

PTFE......it's a bit easier on the tongue (although I guess that's not where you should be spraying it )
