Hi All,
At least the title made you look haha..
My car has the very dark rosewood wood trim which I dont particularly like.
How much of a job would it be to change the door caps, centre console and gear selector surround to a lighter walnut / birch colour?
Obviously its all possible but just how difficult is it?

Thanks in advance for any help.

It is expensive to buy but easy to change, quite a few people have changed over to birds eye and could still have the ones that they took off, whitenismisisisis changed his

Your own can be done in black, but you cannot make it lighter uniformly

Ha ha.. No Malcom dont worry.. They were not on TV.
I have half a dozen DVD's with my favourite Laurel & Hardy..
I wont be on here too late tonight cos tomorrow at 7am I set off for Southampton..
At least I shal be cosseted by one of the worlds great long distance cruisers.
I know I have only had the car for about 2 weeks but I dont half feel special each time I get in and close the door..
I bet I am not alone in taking an admiring backwards glance as I leave her in the car park when going to work.
In fact this morning I think I took three glances, just to check it wasn't a dream.
Then when I return she is there.. Waiting for the automotive heart beat to give her life and a zest for the road..

Many, many years ago when I used to have motorcycles (Oh yes I has those)..
There was a full page advert in the motorcycle magazines for a Suzuki.. It showed a guy parked up on his bike on a deserted mountain road looking into the sunset.. It has a orange glow and was very evocative.. The caption read " The Suzuki GS1000 rider settles behind the bars and thinks of places far distant"..
I always thought that advert captured so well the spirit, the freedom that we enjoyed back in the seventies and eighties.. That seemed to be an era of hope back then..
Anyway I mention the advert because the Merc has a similar effect on me.. I dont view the 278 mile trip to southampton with dread.. I look forwards to the journey.. When I get there I shall just think of the return journey as a way of distraction..
I am so pleased I have this car.. It is why I work.

Thats nice,, I have no intention of keeping the miles low on my car, this is why I go to all of the meets, as I look forward to the drive, and to be truthful, its been 40 year since I enjoyed long drives. Sweden was great for that and like driving in the 50s in the UK
