After sorting out one major gearbox problem through this forum for the princely sum of £2.75 + VAT (A ball socket) I am going to have a punt on this one next.
I have a 1999 A140. Now, the rear drivers side door only occassionally locks, most of the time it has to remain unlocked. Also the boot 0occassionally has to be locked or opened using a key. Someone has had a look at the rear door before and pulled the door button out. It just sits inside the door on a thin wire that is not connected to the mechanism.
ALSO, I can hear a hissing & humming sound when I lock the doors which I assume is the vacuum working (or not) Also, there is a continuious humming sound coming from the boot when I lock the car, or open it. It lasts for the same length of time as the interior light is on.
These things seem connected, and at face value scare my wallet.
Any advice gratefully received.
