Check the rod on the linkage as above, suspect it come off, only plastic and they wear and drop off!

That's exactly the problem I had going into third. Replaced the plastic rod and it's fine now.

I have this problem but the link above isn't working anymore. Please update link or explain in a post how to fix this.

Thanks!

Since I have no clue where these part are located I guess i have to let a car-repair garage fix this. Is it expensive to change?
Hi
Bonnet up, get a colleague to change gears 1 to 2 with engine OFF, look under the washer bottle, see where the noise is coming from and you will see the linkages. It is a ball and socket joint as in your shoulder, so should be a 2 minute job.

Thank you very much!
I'll put on my overall and give it a try.
But where can I buy this part and what is the name of it?

regards

Hi
Best to get it from the main dealer.
But, first check to see if it is still in the engine bay, as it may have come off one end only.

You are my hero!
It had come loose from one end only so I pushed it back on the knob. It was not a good click and I could see that the previous owner had tried to fix it with some type of rubber padding. I guess temporary is better than not working :)

Thanks again!
