the gearbox has some singing bearings that need to be replaced, problem is that there's probably more worn then only the bearings.
Does anybody has an idea what this costs? a new gearbox or revision of the old one? Does there exist a partslist with prices somewhere on the worldwibe web ?
thanks

It is normally the lay shaft bearings that go, if left too long with the gears out of meash it could mean replacing quite a lot. Gear boxes are a specialist repair item. You need a lot of knowlege about thrust. have you thought of asking a gear box center for a quote or go to a breakers

I will search for a gearbox center! I have contacted a breaker, the price for an 90.000mile item was £600. My car has also around 90t miles..... I don't want to get all that work done to find out that the "new" gearbox also begins to sing and rattle.
