A160 coolant issues

Hi sorry if this is in wrong place I’m new.

I have 2001 A160 elegance automatic

Startted having coolant issues ( Radiator fan constantly on )

Put the bod reader on and came back with PO115 temprature sensor switch. I changed that yesterday cleared code car was driving fine.

Started fine again today put dashboard now flashing HI goes off when I get up to a bit of speed, slow down and again starts flashing HI.

Checked water level in header tank it’s warm but no pressure when opening top cap.

Rad fan doesn’t seem to be kicking in now either.

any help would be gratefully received

When you replaced the sensor, how much coolant leaked out..?

Hi none as the sensor sits in the top of the thermostat housing.

just ran it up to temperature again. Fan didn’t kick in but the coolant is definitely pumping around the system

I'm surprised no coolant came out when you swapped the sensor

Not sure on temprature as the digital dash is not the best condition but it got to the point where it was flashing up saying HI and fan didn’t kick in (

HI on the dashboard display relates to oil level.

Never gave that a thought. I did top the oil up on Saturday. I suppose I could have put too much in, will drain some off today and report back later
