A170 Loud Noise straight after turning engine off!!

Especially on colder days, my A170cdi make a sound like a plane going over straight after turning the engine off.
It seems to come from underneath but cant be sure. No one seems to be able to shed any light on the matter.
Anyone got an ideas?!:roll:

Sounds like the auxiliary heater, it continues after the engine shuts down to clear its exhaust and presumably cool things down a bit. Try switching it off and see if this stops it. If I remember correctly the switch is near the handbrake lever and confusingly if the red light is on the heater is switched off

I always ran our A170cdi with it switched off as it uses extra diesel in theory.

Switched that switch next to the handbrake off & it seems to have done the trick.
