Fist of all hello to everyone on the forum, I only joined yesterday and have found so much info already, a great database of knowledge.

I have a CLK 320 Elegance (w208) 1998.

I recently fitted Koni adjustable suspension, lowered springs and top adjustable dampers, what a differance it has made to the handling.

Anyway I had to remove the ABS plugs under the wheel arch for access reasons. When I had completed the work I noticed the 3 faults appear in the display ! I rechecked the plugs and found one on the nearside front had a bent pin. I straightend the pin and after a drive and a restart of the engine the faults dissapeared.

The same faults re-apeared during a long journey after 188 miles whilst traveling approx 70 mph.

I could not clear the faults, so after having a read on here I changed the brake switch yesterday. The faults are still there after doing the lock to lock re-setting of the steering sensor !!!

Is it time to have the car diagnosed to trace the fault ?

Also when fitting the switch does it matter if the brake pedal is in the off or applied position as it has a length adjuster that clicks in and out ?

Many thanks................

I think it will be easier to have the fault codes read out, any garage with a reader can do this, it may only be one wheel sensor.

Re the fitting of the brake light switch, if it works as a brake light switch,ie the light comes on with very slight presure on the pedal, then its OK.
