abs/bas light illumintated how do i reset it?

a140 1999 petrol auto.
is there a special sequence how to reset the abs/bas light as mine is illuminated and my code reader doesnt seem to work on my a140.

Sorry you cannot just reset this,,some thing has failed and it needs to be plugged into STAR

unless the battery was flat/disconnected. try turning the steering from lock to lock.
