I have just bought a 92 300CE Sportline and although its just gone through an MOT, the ABS doesn't appear to be functioning (light on and skids under heavy braking). Anyone got any suggestions for potential remedies?

Do some searches on OVP relay, it's the best option for ABS light being on.

Silver relay, near battery, usually under black cover, has either one or two blade fuses on top, check they aren't blown.

If it's really an ABS problem, then you need a garage with the right diagnostic gear.

Funnily enough, i just bought a 1990 300CE with the same problem. The ABS light is on permanently although I haven't braked hard enough to lock up.

The easiest way to test is with a volt meter on the OVR, pin 30 has the 12v going in and pins 87 are the output, should be 12v coming out, anything under change the OVR. the new one may have more pins than the original, but that does not matter.
