ABS speed sensor

I am installing a Blaupukt sat nav system into a 1990 230ce. The system needs an electronic speed pulse, as the speedo is cable driven could I tap into the wheel speed sensors of the ABS?

You can get a special hall sensor kit for the speed sensor, if there is one the green lead goes to X53/5 behind instrument cluster, the other wires depend on Manual/ auto car.
