And insurance company dragging it as the man won't answer his phone to them . Btw his excuse for hitting me his foot was sore. So angry, any advice or help grateful

In what way do you think the car should detect it?

And if it does detect it, what should it do?

Pre-safe plus on the S class will detect an impending rear end smash and tighten up seatbelts, adjust vehicle height and move the seats into an optimum location, but I do not thing the E class has it.

The insurance co need to send him a letter from legal.
Seems they at fault will dig their heels.
The only extent your car will detect the hit is the parking sensors beeping before the bash.
Hope its all resolved soon.

Oh and welcome to the forum and do stick around.

Used to have a C63...
If insurance companies drag their heels because the other party isn't responding, it is usually because they insure both parties and aim to at least get your excess of you.

Stick to your guns, pester them frequently! If you have legal expenses cover under your policy, suggest they may wish to utilise that, or you will against them for not representing you adequately!

If it gets too much engage an accident management company such as free motor legal. That tends to focus their efforts a little as they can rapidly escalate their costs.

Only if you're in reverse, surely?
Good call, pesky mercedes not as accident averse like knight rider as I thought.

Back to the thread. If the OP invokes his legal cover to chase the other party, as I understand this will be marked as a claim.
