Good afternoon everyone,

Can you advise me, does the active lane assist work when you are crossing a white line by vibrating the steering wheel?

Or does it work another way?

Im not getting any feedback when I cross a white line.

Resistance in the steering is what I remember from mine. It might have vibrated as well but I can’t remember that.
Thinking about it there was a menu you could choose how severe you wanted the assist.

I've set it to sensitive and choose to have the warning on. But I'm definitely not getting anything

After almost 2 weeks of having the car, I've still yet to receive any feedback from the active lane assist.

A conversation with my nearest dealer resulted in them saying to me that if I move over the white lines vigoursly then I'll get the feedback, but still nothing.

They said they could look at the issue but if no issues found I'd be responsible for labour costs.

An old B-Class.
If I go near the line there is a knocking in the steering, (lighter version of how it feels going over cat's eyes). If my indicator is not on, it will actively resist me turning the wheel (you can feel more resistance than usual), if I get too close the wheels brake on the opposite side and a warning comes up on the dash. This is in my manual

I am fairly sure the dealer advice is wrong. If the system detects what it thinks is a deliberate manoeuvre (such as a large steering input, or a lane change indication) it does not warn/intervene. It is really intended to deal with inattention leading to drifting out of lane, so a gradual approach would be a better test. I assume we are discussing the standard feature, rather than the additional functionality as part of the Driver Assistance Package, but the same point would apply. Just to add to rorywquin's information above, the one-sided corrective brake application only occurs if a solid white line is in danger of being crossed. I can only echo the suggestion that you go through the manual information carefully and ensure you have everything set up correctly, with the correct indications, although forgive me for suggesting that you may not have done so already.

I'm assuming that the Lane Assist symbol is green - at least on mine it needs to be green to actually be active. This is dependent on how good the road markings actually are. On mine, at least, it really reacts to drift rather than when steering action. Its more noticeable on slight bends and a pain in roadworks, hence I turn mine off.
