Anyone know how to adjust the wiper so that it doesn't park half an inch over the rubber trim around the windshield on a W210?

Its always done this, but having bought a new wiper today I thought I'd get it sorted.

Lift up the rubber seal just where your thumb is in the photo and you will see 2 cast ribs on the drivehead and backplate, these should be in line when the drivehead is parked.
When the motor is parked the crank attached to the motor spindle and the link bar to the drivehead should form a straight line, if this is not the case move the motor crank round on it's splines until the alignment is correct.
There is no other adjustment available for the wiper sweep.
Edit; Your drivehead looks slightly different to the one i am referring to ,your alignment marks may be a cutout and a rib but they will be in the same position.Sorry about the definition.

Thanks, I'll check tomorrow for any alignment marks (makes things easier) :)

Similar problem

The wiper in my 99 - 00 c200 goes through it's full cycle with no problems but it parks itself in a slightly different place.

It began at about the 2 o'clock position (right in front of the driver on a RHD) and it has steadily worked it's way across to about 11 o'clock.

I looked through the posts regarding the wipers but I don't think repositioning the wiper in relation to the motor would work (when in operation the wiper works absolutley fine, clearing the windscreen and not going too far in one direction or the other and not fouling the rubber anywhere).

I fear this could be an issue with the motor !.

Any thoughts ?

See my reply to your other post, if you follow the sychronising procedure I have laid out on #4 of this thread I think you should be ok.
