In my defence I only buy oil in 20L amounts , and filters are always MB,Mann or Bosch :D (just saying)

You know a lot of MB dealers do a 7 year plus basic car service to keep costs down but still gives you a service stamp (if that is what you want )
Naaaaaa My local will do a full service frmor £250 it's actually due a A service which will be around £170

Although to Mercedes Benz dealers credit they did change my key battery for me free, I doubt this is any consolation though :D

And that is where MB dealers let themselves down (or make loads of money depending on your viewpoint). The basic A service is not too bad at around £250 on average but for that you only get oil and filter, which means everything else (air, fuel, pollen, brake fluid, ATF etc etc) is extra.... which takes us up to £500+ in too many cases.

And the B service is expensive at £400 on average given that you don't get much more than a few extra checks compared to the A service

And also if you’re on the older assyst+ or whatever it’s called it goes all the way up to service H I think but it’s all just additional checks which cost you just that little bit more

My E350 is booked in for a B service in a couple of weeks, £350 that’s including brake fluid change, thank goodness for Indies .
It sort of begs the question of how old a car should be before turning it over to the indies to do the job and what MB benefits do you lose when you take that step!

Let's not forget the advantages you gain from working with the Indies...

Hi All,

Next service on my car is showing as a B7 service. Car is 14 plate E250.
Any idea what this service is as I was looking to do it myself moving forward.
All air/pollen/fuel filters where changed in Sept 18 on fourth service ATF was changed at 5 year service in Sept 19.
Car is on 49k

Thanks
If it's a CDI, do your research well and decide whether you want MB's emissions software update to re-infect your ECM with their latest version of corruption, or not, as the case may be, it is optional here in the UK and your choice whether you have it installed or not. If a CGI then it's irrelevant, just the costs of Dealership v Indy, both will update the service history, dealership will provide mobilo for 12 Months but you can buy recovery services with the money saved by using Independants anyway.

I did a quick check, it think that my next service is a B, booked in this Friday for an A service, but also having the AT/torque converter done as well, maybe some air filters? Wonder what they would be a MB?
