Hi all, have been reading some of the v interesting threads and thought it was time to register and say hello....with the ulterior motive of hopefully getting some advice from you knowledgable people!
I took the plunge in Dec and picked up my first Merc (previously had a nice BM 5 series)...have always had a thing for the 'tiny' W140 and after viewing 5 or 6 I finally fell for a '98 S320 Long Wheel Base, have tried to attach a pic so hopefully it appears.
Although it was all main dealer servicing up to 87k miles (currently 125 on the clock), the stamps in the book stop there and even though it appears to be well looked after and clean oil etc I want to get a full service done (though cant afford main dealer) I also need to get it MOT'd as it has just expired.
I'm based in London near Walthamstow / Chingford.....any advice and/or recommendations much appreciated!! The only other issue is the tracking on front wheels which is slightly to the left - I got it up on the lift in Kwik Fit and they said they couldnt align them as there is a bit of give in the wheels when you rock them from side to side which I did myself....my Dad reckons it should just be the track rod ends that need to be sorted so again I am looking for the least expensive route - any help?
thanks in advance
