W210 auto E220cdi Reg Jan 2003---I have recently noticed that whilst start up is fine,if I engage R or D the car will not rev above tick over revs, shows no power and will not therefore go up inclines. If I press accelerator for 20/30 seconds the power will gradually come on. It will go on the flat,no problem with no loss of power. Does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem is?
I have the original battery and MAF.
In all other respects the car runs very well indeed.
Many thanks
John

Yes deffo the air flow meter, is there any oil on the left front corner of the engine where the rubber pipes aqre for the turbo, there is a smaller rubber hose that runs from the top left front corner under the engine cover, that runs down and connects to the main black tube to the turbo, on there is a small electrical plug on the left side, touch that and see if its wet with oil.
