Aerial question sl129

I have just changed to anewr 129 and it has a hideous black antenna with a wire wrapped around it in black It doesnt retract and I wondered if this is an MB mod or just someone who couldnt be bothered to replace it with the Hirschmann oem? I have the sat nav installed but that uses as small button aerial mounted on the boot. Can anyone advise if it i an MB item and linked to something before I take it off and replace it with the "proper one" which also would not get in the way when I take the hard top off

The aerial system is standard retracting on all SLs why not put it back to original, they are om Ebay from time to time,even a damaged one is OK as the rod section new is only £15 from MB.
