After market parking aid for W210

Fellow Benzies,

Can anybody recommend an aftermarket parking aid (PARKTRONIC) for an 97 E class W210? The local dealer has quoted me £550 to fit front and rear...once I picked myself off the floor and finished laughing I decided that they weren't the cheapest option. Anybody got any suggestions and where in NW london are they located?

not sure if you have a maplin electronics or halfords down there but they have a simple one for £12.00

Depends if you want one with genuine BOSCH sensors, which works properly, integrates well with the bumpers and interfaces properly with the cars electronics. If you do, then stop laughing and get the MB one.

If you want one with that will foul with road grime, give unreliable signals, will fall out from the bumbers and will not work with your dash display, then go for Maplins or similar, but the laugh will be on you.

I'm afraid that with these things you get what you pay for, but if you buy the original kit it's not difficult to fit yourself and you can save some money.
