Ok i have put live direct to the pump and it runs but seems very weak so looks like a change or service. If someone has the coil spring conversion for sale i'd be interested.
TIA
Dave
Probably cheaper and easier to fix it.

Ok, i got service parts and fitted. Pump runs when i wire it direct but does not inflate the suspension and cannot hear any leaks so looks like a strip down of the rear to check sensor . Just out of curiosity what is the other connector plug on top of the compressor for.

Thought i'd go the way of the Schrader valve so piped it direct to the air bag but my compressor has broke so tried a normal tyre inflator which doesn't seem powerful enough to raise bag from bottom. Bigger compressor needed and if that doesn't work it will be petrol and vesta

I'll say it again. If you put 12v on the pump motor and it has good pressure the height sensor will have no impact and the car will lift.
With pump running and good pressure the only thing to stop it lifting will be a leak.
If there's no leak then the pump isn't generating enough pressure.

It really is that simple.

I have temporarily removed the pump so not part of the problem. As i said i have now piped direct into the airbags so nothing else can interfere wit inflation. O/s airbag was working ok just the n/s was leaking which i've replaced.

Can it be the top of the airbag where the plug goes, is it a solenoid ?

Got a good quality compressor and schrader valves fitted but suspension still does not raise.
Does the plug on top of airbag need energised to allow air into the bag.
Saw a post somewhere where a 9v battery was connected to it but that was to drain air out of bag for removal. HELP

When I fitted new air bags to the rear of my s211, it could not get the bags to inflate, it had to go on the scanner to do this and to recalibrate the levels. That I think is your problem monument7

Cheers mate sounds interesting but as i said i have disconnected pump and air lines so now feeding air direct to air bag. Would the solenoid stop air going into airbag, does it need to be wired to a battery to open it ?. Thanks

Can you take a pic of the strut where you say there's a solenoid?

I cut open my old air bags and can't remember seeing any solenoids, is it just the rear bags or are they the fronts?
Okay yours looks to have 4 air bags looking at the photo.
There's another silver one I see on my way to work which looks in the same predicament.

I think the OP is inferring the pump is controlled by a solenoid, not that there is a solenoid in the pump.

It only has airbags on the rear and on top of airbags there is the air supply and an electric plug which i assumed is for a solenoid.
I saw in a post somewhere that to lower air bag for removal a 9v battery is wired into this plug to get air out.
Either way the bag will not inflate. Help

So try wiring a 9v battery into the plug?

When I changed mine rear air bags it was just a matter of jacking up the car and putting on axle stands, unplug the electrical connections, remove the air line, there was some hissing as what air was left in the system. Fitted the new bags and find they would not inflate and had to drive the car 2 miles home from my mates garage with no air in the bags (very bumpy ride indeed at 10 mph) I jacked the car up and tried starting the car in the hope that it would fill the bags without the weight on the rear end. This didn't work. My neighbour who has a very expensive scanner said to me that it will need to be reset and recalibrated using the scanner. This was done by doing the o/s rear first and then the n/s. it took about 20 minute from start to finish and since then I have had no issues.
I have heard of some fitting new air bags and starting the car up and the bags fill. I guess you and I were unlucky and that why I needed it scanned with the scanner.
Have you been able to try the scanner?

I've disconnected everything just leaving air line direct to air bag with schrader valves
